FREEDOM TOYOTA LAUNCHES COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM TO BENEFIT LOCAL CAUSES

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Good things happen when communities join together. That's the philosophy of Eric Savage, president of Freedom Auto Group which is launching a new public service program to benefit a cross-section of local causes. From October 15 through November 5, Freedom Toyota car lots in Harrisburg and Hamburg, Pa., will be filled with an assortment of culinary delicacies, highway safety demonstrations, military ceremonies and activities – all in the name of a good cause. The public is invited to a series of special events produced as part of the Freedom Toyota Cares program. There will be no admission charge. All activities are provided courtesy of Freedom Toyota, which will join with Toyota Corporation to donate a total of $40,000 to designated local causes before the end of the year.

"This has been a difficult year for many in our community," explains Mr. Savage. "Whether they are suffering from personal hardship and loss or sacrificing to preserve our way of life, Freedom Toyota is a corporate neighbor committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us. That's why we are launching this program – to generate greater public awareness of friends and neighbors in need and to financially help the organizations that serve them."

The first phase of the Freedom Toyota Cares program includes the following events and causes benefitting from them.

Cars for the Cause

Highway safety will be the focus in a day full of workshops and demonstrations on October 15. Visitors can try to walk the line wearing fatal vision goggles equipped with special lens technology that simulates drug and alcohol impairment. They can inspect a DUI sobriety checkpoint trailer, request child passenger safety seat checks, or receive complimentary adult "car fit" checks. Highlighted will be the work of this event's beneficiary: the Pennsylvania chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.).

Freedom Toyota Food Fair

The aroma of good food – and plenty of it – will fill the festive fall air on October 22, when some of Pennsylvania's most talented chefs and aspiring chefs offer culinary samples. The assortment, ranging from gourmet to fast food fare, will provide something for every taste. Beneficiaries of this event will be Dauphin County Meals On Wheels and Berks Encore Meals On Wheels.

Freedom Toyota Salutes Veterans

In anticipation of Veterans Day, Freedom Toyota has invited military color guards and personnel to provide drills, equipment, and exercises for public viewing and participation on November 5. Various activities may include an Army rock climbing wall, blow-up football and basketball courts, military pull-up bars and equipment displays. Beneficiary of this event will be Keystone Wounded Warriors.

In addition to raising public awareness about the featured causes, the events provide them with financial benefits as well. Donations will be made to each organization from Freedom Toyota and Toyota corporation. Donation amounts will be determined based on the combined total number of supporters each beneficiary attracts to its designated event or to the online Facebook page for Freedom Auto Community. The cause with the highest total number of supporters will receive $20,000, second highest will receive $10,000, and third highest will receive $5,000.
